What it does
Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro is Dreamtonics' desktop singing-voice synthesizer. You draw notes in a piano roll, type lyrics and pick a voice, and a neural engine trained on licensed recordings of professional singers sings the part on your own computer. It runs as a standalone app or as a plugin inside your DAW, and every parameter, from pitch and vibrato to breathiness and phoneme timing, stays editable. Dreamtonics positions it as a vocal instrument rather than an AI song generator.
Official source 1 ↗Features
- Piano-roll vocal editing. Enter notes like any virtual instrument, then shape pitch deviation, vibrato, gender, breathiness, mouth opening, consonant and vowel strength and phoneme timing, with automation curves for expression. Phrases can be copied between projects, quantized, transposed and time-stretched. Official source 1 ↗
- Cross-lingual singing. Lyrics can be in English, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Spanish or Korean, or several languages in one track. The software handles phoneme conversion and pronunciation, with manual phoneme overrides, and any voice can sing in all six languages. Official source 1 ↗ · Official source 2 ↗
- AI retakes and vocal modes. AI Retakes generate alternative takes for pitch, timbre and timing, and each voice offers Dynamic Vocal Modes and Smart Pitch Controls; all three are in both the trial and the full version. Official source 1 ↗
- Local, real-time rendering. Synthesis runs on your own computer with sub-100 ms latency for real-time playback. After a purchased voice is activated it works fully offline and does not upload your projects for processing. Official source 1 ↗
- DAW plugin with ARA. Works inside a DAW as a VST3, AU or AAX instrument, with ARA versions for hosts such as Cubase 12+, REAPER 6+, Pro Tools 2024.10+ and Studio One 5+. Exports include MIDI and audio stems. Official source 1 ↗
- Licensed voice library. The voice library has 70+ voices from Dreamtonics and partner vendors, each recorded from a real singer under licence, natively in English, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese and Korean. Partner voices include Kasane Teto (AHS), Megpoid (INTERNET) and the Mandarin voice Shian (Quadimension); choir collections recorded from real ensembles are also available. Official source 1 ↗
