Splice is subscription-based. Creator has a regular price of $19.99 a month for about 200 downloads a month, and Sounds is $12.99 a month billed yearly for about 100 downloads a month; yearly billing saves 15%. The Splice x Ableton Live and Splice x Studio Pro DAW plans cost $12.99 a month each with a 7-day free trial, and an INSTRUMENT plan with unlimited instrument access costs $12.99 a month. Splice also mentions a Creator+ plan, but its price was not shown on the checked pages. Rent-to-own plugins are separate per-plugin payment plans. Splice is a royalty-free sample library for music producers, with 3M+ samples, loops, one-shots, presets and MIDI from artists, labels and sound designers. Subscribers download sounds with monthly credits and keep everything they download, even after cancelling. Around the library Splice offers a desktop app, a mobile app, DAW plugins and in-DAW integrations with an AI Search with Sound feature, the free Splice INSTRUMENT plugin, and rent-to-own payment plans for third-party plugins.

Credits download sounds: samples cost one credit each and MIDI patterns and presets up to three. Unused credits roll over to the next month. Official source 1 ↗

Upgrades are charged immediately, refill credits and reset the billing cycle; downgrades take effect at the renewal date. Credits roll over either way. Official source 1 ↗

You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the billing period, and remaining credits expire 28 days after it ends. You can instead pause the plan for up to two months to keep accrued credits. Official source 1 ↗

  • Licences are non-exclusive. Every user can use the same sounds, so you do not own exclusive rights to them. Some distributors require exclusive rights to all source content, which Splice samples cannot meet. Official source 1 ↗
  • No redistribution or AI training. You cannot sublicense sounds in isolation, redistribute them in new sample packs, or use downloaded content as AI training data. Official source 1 ↗
  • DAW integrations download samples only. Presets, MIDI and other pack extras cannot be downloaded in the DAW integration, whole packs cannot be fetched there, and the Ableton integration needs Live 12.3 or later. Official source 1 ↗
